We went all the way to Laos for this. We found Hmong tribe and their jewelry while navigating our way through a night market in Laos. An important element of Hmong clothing and culture is the paj ntaub, a complex form of traditional textile art created using stitching, reverse-stitching, and reverse applique. Created exclusively by women, main traditional functions of paj ntaub are in funerary garments, where the designs are said to offer the deceased spiritual protection and guide them towards their ancestors in the afterlife, and for the Hmong New Year celebration!
We took the pan ntaub triangles and gave it our own little twist with a 18k gold bambi coin and light blue beads that go around your ears to give it a bit of edge.
