Our "Victoria Repeat" is handpainted on terra-cota clay which has been used in India since the Indus Valley civilization. Traditionally, it was seen as a mystical material due to its combination of four of the five vital elements – air, earth, fire and water. No harmful chemicals or products are used in its manufacturing process making terracotta extremely eco-friendly and sustainable.
The potrait depicts a classic painting of the 19th century princess, Victoria Gauramma, of Kodagu(India) who accompanied her father to the UK to demand his wealth back from the East India company. She later became the favorite godchild of Queen Victoria and was named Victoria herself.
